Ana Gonzales bio

Ana Gonzalez de Jorgenson is Mexican-born musician born into a musical family. When she was a kid, she listened to lots of traditional music as well as old Boleros. In addition, she was a fan of traditional romantic ballads and ranchero. Ana is a fan of tangos and operas as well as other dramatic performances. Ana began learning and singing the piano with her mom, she began her more intensive vocal training when she was 16 working with the famous Mexican tenor Flavio Becerra. Her musical education continued at the School of Music of the University of Guadalajara, and afterward in the School of Sacred Music in Toluca, Mexico. In Guadalajara as well as Mexico City, she was an active member of numerous chamber and opera choirs. When she moved from Mexico to the United States at the age of 2000, she sang for the Fort Lauderdale Symphony Chorus. She has performed solo Latin American music for private functions and as a member Ensemble XXI in Redlands. The passion and love she has for music, art, and performing keeps her involved with a variety of local initiatives as a performer and teacher. Ana was also a part of both the Community Chorus of Redlands and Inland Master Chorale. She is now a teacher in The Performance Loft. Ana hopes, through her sharing of Latin American traditional songs, that she can bring about a desire, specifically in the younger generations in keeping the music alive.
